Case Study : How Advoco delivered for a recent client

A recent client contacted Advoco with a well-advanced business plan, funds in place and a launch strategy but while the business idea was fully-formed the entrepreneurs still required advice on the corporate structure and the practicalities of establishing an international business headquartered in Spain.

  • An initial meeting was held to discuss the proposal and the gaps in the business planning. Advoco subsequently emailed the client with a list of the issues to be addressed prior to launching and with an outline proposal for the structure and organisation of the group, all without any obligation on the client’s part. At this point the client agreed to employ an Advoco manager with some partner support to work with them on a plan dealing with issues such as:

  • > whether to incorporate in Spain and if staff should be employed or freelance;

  • > a tax efficient offshore structure acceptable to the Spanish and UK tax authorities;

  • > the mechanics of VAT accounting and payments in Spain and across borders including outside the EU customs area;

  • > transfer pricing within the group; and

  • > personal tax planning for the owners of the new business.

  • The final proposals were documented and incorporated into the existing business plan. Advoco have been instructed to set up the Spanish company and handle its tax, accounting and payroll requirements for a set monthly fee.

This gives you an idea of the way Advoco works – the initial consultation is offered without fee or obligation, we are led by the client and do not offer advice or services unless prompted to. This was a larger assignment but we approach all jobs with the same supportive, collaborative attitude.
